چکیده

The range map registration (or alignment) phase is the main bottleneck in the 3D scanning pipeline due to the amount of user intervention required. The standard approach to registration consists of an initial rough alignment followed by an automatic refining technique (ICP). Automatic registration is an active research area, since it is the missing component to fully automatise the scanning process. Although many efforts have been made in order to avoid the manual placement, none of the existing technologies seems to be adequately accurate and flexible. This paper addresses the problem of providing a good initial guess to the ICP algorithm, by tracking the 3D-scanner motion using well known (and low cost) computer vision techniques. The proposed technique is shown to be effective and to generate sufficiently accurate guesses in the majority of the possible configurations.

Automatic continuity of almost multiplicative maps between Frechet algebras

For Fr$acute{mathbf{text{e}}}$chet algebras $(A, (p_n))$ and $(B, (q_n))$, a linear map $T:Arightarrow B$ is textit{almost multiplicative} with respect to $(p_n)$ and $(q_n)$, if there exists $varepsilongeq 0$ such that $q_n(Tab - Ta Tb)leq varepsilon p_n(a) p_n(b),$ for all $n in mathbb{N}$, $a, b in A$, and it is called textit{weakly almost multiplicative} with respect to $(p_n)$ and $(q_n)$...

Exploiting the scanning sequence for automatic registration of large sets of range maps

Range map registration is still the most time consuming phase in the processing of 3D scanning data. This is because real scanning sets are composed of hundreds of range maps and their registration is still partially manual. We propose a new method to manage complex scan sets acquired by following a regular scanner pose pattern. Our goal is to define an initial adjacency graph by coarsely align...

Banach module valued separating maps and automatic continuity

For two algebras $A$ and $B$, a linear map $T:A longrightarrow B$ is called separating, if $xcdot y=0$ implies $Txcdot Ty=0$ for all $x,yin A$. The general form and the automatic continuity of separating maps between various Banach algebras have been studied extensively. In this paper, we first extend the notion of separating map for module case and then we give a description of a linear se...

Automatic Classification of Concept Maps Based on a Topological Taxonomy and Its Application to Studying Features of Human-built Maps

The flexibility of concept mapping enables users to construct a wide range of maps for a given domain. This variation raises the question of what constitute “good” concept maps. This paper contributes towards answering this question by presenting the development and evaluation of a tool for automatic classification of concept maps based on a topological taxonomy. In addition to showing successf...
